Bunker sand is evaluated on six main criteria: particle size distribution
(USGA-compliant), drainage characteristics, angularity, angle of repose,
color consistency, and local availability. Sand selection is not just
cosmetic — it directly affects drainage, playability, and routine
maintenance requirements.
